Helen Bell is a complementary health practitioner, specialising in the Bowen Technique and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. For many years she worked as a consultant therapist at a local hospital. Helen has been a practising therapist in Tetbury since 1991.
In June 2002 Helen completed her training in the Dr Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy in Austria. She now treats lymphoedema sufferers using a combination of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (DLT). The latter can include the use of bandaging and compression hosiery as well as advice on skin care and exercise.
In 2008 Helen completed her training in the Bowen Technique. This gentle but extremely effective technique makes an excellent supportive treatment for clients with lymphoedema.
Helen is a former General Secretary of The Association of Physical and Natural Therapists. This post greatly extended her knowledge of the complementary therapy world: in doing so, it also increased her awareness of the public's need for safe and appropriate treatment. As a Full Member of MLDuk and APNT (Association of Physical & Natural Therapists), Helen updates and extends her training on a regular basis, including skills in First Aid.
